Tandridge Sparks
Tandridge Sparks is a new grant programme run by Tandridge Voluntary Council. Grants of up to £500.00 are available for organisations working in the district. The assessment of applications will be made by staff from Surrey County Council, Tandridge District Council, TVA and volunteers from local voluntary organisations.
Grants will continue to be distributed until the funding is spent (we have a total of around £10,000 available). Deadlines are the 1st of each month, with the first deadline the 1st of May 2023. All applicants will be informed of the outcome by the last week of the month in which the assessment panel met.
I want to apply for a Grant
The Tandridge Sparks Fund offers grants of up to £500.00 for small community organisations working in Tandridge.
The funding is designed to enable you to pilot or enhance your service. We are particularly interested in projects that are supporting individuals post COVID and through the Cost-of-Living Crisis. Successful applicants will also receive a package of free one to one consultancy support on governance, management, and fundraising from Tandridge Voluntary Action.
Projects must be working to support individuals living in Tandridge.
Projects must have either a governing document, this could be Memorandum, Articles of Association, constitution, or terms of reference.
Deadlines are monthly (1st month) until the total grant pot (£10,000) is spent.
All applications must be made online (please contact us if you have problems completing an online application form) and decisions will be made and all applicants will receive individual feedback before the end of the month in which they applied.
Unsuccessful applicants will be allowed to reapply once.
For organisations without a bank account, TVA will also be happy to act as a fiscal host, ie banking the money and making payments on your behalf.
Decisions will be made by a staff from Surrey County Council, TVA and up to four individuals drawn from local community, voluntary, faith groups.

I’d like to be a Grant Assessor
To help us assess the grants, we are looking for staff, trustees, and volunteers from Tandridge based community organisations to join the panel.
This is how it works
Each month we will be convening a grants panel meeting (alternating between online and in-person) to look through the grants received.
You will be asked to read through a summary of the grants we have received during the preceding month and score them from 1-3. You won’t be able to see the names of the organisations applying, only what they are applying for and how much.
You will share your thinking with colleagues on the grants panel, which will include colleagues from Surrey County Council, Tandridge District Council and Tandridge Voluntary Action.
Each grant panel will comprise of a maximum of 8 people, 4 from the community and voluntary sector.
TVA will check before hand to make sure there is no conflict of interest for any of the assessors.
Meetings will take no more than 90minutes to 2 hours. Dates and times to be confirmed.
Why get involved
Reading application forms is a good way to enhance your own skills.
Give something back, it is a great way of volunteering to help other Tandridge organisations.
