Accessibility statement

VASE is committed to ensuring that our services, information, and activities are accessible to everyone. We want all members of our community, including volunteers, partner organisations, and the people we support, to be able to take part fully in our work.

Our Commitment

We aim to:

  • Provide information in clear, simple, and inclusive formats
  • Remove or reduce barriers that might prevent people from accessing our services
  • Make reasonable adjustments for anyone who needs them
  • Ensure our staff and volunteers understand accessibility needs and respond respectfully
  • Continually review and improve our accessibility practices

Information and Communications

We will:

  • Use plain English wherever possible
  • Provide documents in alternative formats on request (e.g., large print, accessible PDFs, audio versions where feasible)
  • Make our digital content as accessible as possible and follow recognised accessibility standards

Events, Meetings, and Training

When running events, we will:

  • Choose accessible venues wherever possible (step-free access, accessible toilets)
  • Provide remote access options when feasible
  • Offer materials in advance on request
  • Make reasonable adjustments (e.g., seating needs, BSL interpretation, captions)
  • Ask participants if they have accessibility needs before the event

Our Buildings and Services

Where we manage or use physical spaces, we will:

  • Provide clear information about accessibility features and limitations
  • Make reasonable adjustments to support safe and comfortable access
  • Review our spaces regularly to identify and address barriers
